Kindly give me a moment to build a solid narrative. Here goes.
Some people have asked me, “Dayo Abiola, how do you keep up with your consistency on social media and still work at creating world-class logos?” No doubt, the task of delivering one #logo is enough to take you days off social media.
My answer, I use a routinized TO DO list which drives my premeditated decision strategies on marketing. A few years of experience in Marketing comms sufficed. To keep everything in line with my dream, passion and objective of achieving success, I deployed best presentation, engagement, easy identification, tone of voice, repetition and ease of sustaining audience attention. This is my arsenal. The capacity TO DO is enacted through my aggregated years in corporate identity, consulting, graphics design, branding and promotions. Knowing how crucial technology is, my time in a tech company sufficed. However, I never walk alone, I also had the help of other specialists in their own right to advice me, alongside hiring their support services.
Everything above describes how I found this beautiful woman. I saw her drawing one afternoon. A quick peep at the paper, it was perfect. Unable to hold back; I quizzed her only to discover that she’s a natural born artist just like me.
Then in her wonderment of why I quizzed, she looked up at me more intently and I saw her eyes. “My God! She’s fine”. On further enquiry, her Northern Nigeria extraction was revealed. Done deal! This is my childhood fantasy right before.
I left and strategy decisions began. I deployed all that I stated above as my arsenal. The best part I saved for last, which is still the better part of me, is that I summoned courage. I toasted her right in her father’s house. I was already welcomed but to prove my commitment, I was going to do it in the place that will prove I was crazy in love. I didn’t ask her out. I asked her to marry me. Did I walk alone? I asked the one marriage specialist that’s comparable to no human for advice and he spoke to me through a good friend of mine. It was all the GO I needed and fast I did.
