Sparking Children, the Future Leaders with Early Enterprise Orientation

SparqKids, initiated on October 25th, 2023, emerged from a core realization at Dayo Abiola Consulting: a significant knowledge gap exists among Nigerian businesses and founders regarding the crucial role of corporate identity and branding. Observing that over 80% of SMEs in Nigeria, and arguably across Africa, lack dedicated brand departments – a cornerstone for success and global scalability – we, as a solutions-focused company, identified a proactive approach. Rather than solely addressing the existing deficit, we sought to cultivate understanding from the ground up. SparqKids was thus born from our innovative and constructive spirit, aiming to instill foundational enterprise orientation in young children aged 8-16.

SparqKids is a program initiated by Dayo Abiola Consulting Limited. SparqKids is a program aimed at nurturing young minds with early enterprise orientation. It also aims to prepare children for a future of enterprise, innovation and problem solving by instilling the principles that drive successful businesses. This is a program that prepares children for the future. By reaching these young minds early, we aspire to ingrain the very principles that drive global brands, ensuring that future business leaders possess an innate understanding of critical success factors. This early exposure promises seamless synergy and minimal bottlenecks when they later engage with consultants and specialists like ourselves.

The vision of SparqKids is to empower these young children with skills for business, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals for Quality Education and Decent Work and Economic Growth. Our self-funded pilot at Stand Point International School provided an immersive experience for these young participants, featuring expert-led workshops and resources. This initiative has since flourished through a valuable partnership of our esteemed patrons; Hashim H. Hashim (SA to the Governor of Jigawa State on ICT II), Ms. Nwanneka Asobo (Early stage learning expert, University of Sunderland), Hon. Sagir M. Ahmed (Commissioner for Information, Youth and Sports, Jigawa State), Dr. Gbemisola Abiola (Post-Doctoral Fellow, Hutchins Center, Harvard University), Ibrahim M. Sani (Chief Executive, Grand Amber Palace Nigeria Ltd), Alexander Tiemo (Founding Partner, Broad Capital Advisory), Sagir Rabiu (Coordinator, Window on America, Dutse), and Mr. Thomas Ukubile (Managing Director, Komplete Konsult).

Their belief underscores the positive impact SparqKids is having on these young recipients, instilling the core tenets of business through early enterprise orientation. To sustain and expand this crucial program, reaching even more deserving young children, we will continue to expand our investments in a future where this foundational understanding of business is deeply rooted from a young age, fostering economic growth and seamless collaboration.
