As Creative Director of Dayo Abiola Consulting, I’ve always believed that a successful brand is more than just a logo; it’s a reflection of a company’s values and its commitment to a larger purpose. This belief led us on a journey towards integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into our corporate strategy, aligning our efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, our focus on fostering responsible business practices resonates with SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and our commitment to a thriving business ecosystem aligns with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). This strategic integration of ESG principles is a vital part of ensuring that we are building Dayo Abiola Consulting Ltd. into a truly global business, recognized for both its creative excellence and its responsible operations.

Our journey towards embracing ESG began with a key observation deeply rooted in our work with Nigerian and African businesses. As specialists in crafting compelling corporate identities that empower bold visionaries seeking differentiation to achieve more, we are constantly seeking greater responsibilities that reinforce our clients’ trust in us as consultants. In this pursuit, we’ve noted an opportunity: many enterprises and founders in Nigeria, where over 80% of SMEs lack dedicated brand departments, can further enhance their journey to building truly successful and globally competitive brands by prioritizing sustainable and responsible practices. This insight sparked a realization within us. As a solutions-oriented company, we understood that fostering a thriving business ecosystem includes championing a foundational understanding of responsibility and sustainability. This is why we are proactively integrating these crucial principles within our own operations and advocating for their adoption across the businesses we serve and the wider Nigerian economic landscape, ultimately leading us to embrace ESG as a core tenet of our corporate strategy and to actively engage with initiatives like Greenpact Jigawa.

A pivotal moment for us began with the inclusion of our Creative Director as a member of the EcoGreen Initiative for Climate Change. This marked a significant step in formalizing our commitment to environmental stewardship. Building on this momentum, our attendance at the launch of Greenpact Jigawa, a vital climate action and green jobs initiative focused on sustainable development within Jigawa State, further solidified our path. I, alongside our esteemed Corporate Strategy Specialist, Hujjatullah A. Sanni, who also plays a key role in guiding strategy for other impactful initiatives such as Harness, SparqKids, Ballup (a Gadawur Championship project), and Apprentis 1.0, witnessed firsthand the powerful commitment to empowering youth and women through green skills and sustainable practices championed by the initiative’s convener, Hashim H. Hashim (SA to the Governor of Jigawa State on ICT II). His dedication to fostering a greener future resonated deeply with our own aspirations. The insightful words shared at the event further illuminated the path forward. Salim Gumel who vouched to reduce the region’s carbon footprint by planting and nurturing economic trees around Gumel and to train youth and women—especially students—on green jobs, climate action, and how to turn waste into wealth, deeply resonated with us.

Dr. Mustapha Shehu eloquently stated that “Green jobs are national development tools,” a sentiment that underscores the economic potential we see in aligning with sustainable practices. The collaborative spirit was palpable, echoing Dr. Rislan Kanya’s powerful assertion that “Partnerships fuel sustainable innovation,” a principle we intend to embody through our engagement with Greenpact Jigawa. The practical and resourceful approach championed by Babagana Yahaya, who emphasized that “Plastic can power purpose—let’s convert waste to wealth,” highlights the tangible solutions we aim to support through our branding expertise. Finally, the forward-thinking perspective of Muiz Adeniran, who noted that “Agile governance is the future of climate action,” reinforces our commitment to adaptable and responsible operational practices as we grow. These changemakers, along with Hashim, exemplify the dedication and action-oriented spirit of Greenpact Jigawa. As a logo design company, we recognize the potent role of visual communication in conveying these crucial messages. By strategically aligning with Greenpact Jigawa, we aim not only to contribute to environmental sustainability but also to fortify our brand identity as a responsible and forward-thinking service provider within the value chain, a crucial element for our global aspirations.

For Dayo Abiola Consulting, ESG transcends mere compliance; it forms the bedrock of our operational philosophy. We are steadfast in minimizing our environmental footprint through prioritizing digital workflows, rigorously pursuing energy efficiency within our operations, and championing sustainable procurement practices. Furthermore, we are deeply committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive work environment, ensuring the well-being of our team, and upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct in all our engagements.
By embedding these principles into the very fabric of Dayo Abiola Consulting, we aspire to serve as a guiding light for other businesses, demonstrating that environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and sound governance are not impediments to profitability but rather integral components of long-term success and global best practices. We firmly believe that by strategically aligning our creative expertise with the core tenets of the Green Revolution, we can contribute meaningfully to a more sustainable and equitable future for Nigeria and the global community, all while building Dayo Abiola Consulting Ltd into a globally respected and impactful organization.
