Dutse, Jigawa State – The stage is set for a groundbreaking football tournament. Organizers of the Gadawur Championship 2025 and the participating pioneer teams of the maiden edition convened at the elegant Hanan Hangout on Thursday, March 6th, 2025. This wasn’t just a meeting; it was the formalization of a dream, a blueprint for a tournament designed to elevate grassroots football and create pathways for young athletes in Dutse, Jigawa State.
Hanan Hangout, a venue synonymous with sophistication and community engagement, provided the perfect backdrop for this pivotal gathering. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as representatives from Dutse Hope FC (Sega), Base City FC (Zach), and Dan Masara United (Milo) joined organizers Mr. Dayo Abiola (Creative Director) and Hujjatullah A. Sanni (Corporate Strategy Specialist) both of Dayo Abiola Consulting Limited – Nigeria’s foremost logo design company, alongside the lead officiator Ahmed Wisdom, to solidify the tournament’s modalities.

The meeting focused on establishing the ground rules, ensuring fair play, and finalizing the tournament’s fixtures. The Gadawur Championship 2025 will feature a three-week, point-based system, with each team competing in home and away matches. This structure aims to reward consistent performance and provide ample opportunities for teams to showcase their skills.
The choice of Hanan Hangout as the meeting venue underscores the resolve of the organizers of Gadawur Championship/25 to make the tournament a private sector-led championship. This resolve is further justified by Hanan Hangout’s CEO, Hajiya Salma Haruna Wakili, a silent champion of grassroots development.
With the tournament’s kickoff scheduled for April 5th, 2025, at the All Star Sports Arena, the Gadawur Championship/25 is poised to become a landmark event in Dutse. This tournament is more than just a series of matches; it’s a movement, a testament to the power of community and the boundless potential of young athletes. The Gadawur Championship/25 is set to ignite a passion for football and create lasting opportunities for the youth of Dutse.

The tournament is a unique 5-a-side competition—the first of its kind—driven by private sector collaboration as a platform for empowerment and an avenue to redefine possibilities through a brand-inspired tournament for young talents and the community at large. Gadawur Championship/25 is a BALLUP Project—an initiative of Dayo Abiola Consulting Limited. This championship stands as a testament to the power of vision, branding, and private sector investment in grassroots development. As a wholly private sector-driven initiative, it serves as a catalyst, rallying the private sector in Dutse to contribute in meaningful ways, ensuring that every effort, no matter the scale, impacts the passionate young football lovers who fill the streets of Dutse in great numbers.
